Candelilla wax is obtained from the Euphorbia Cerífera plant, which grows wild in northern Mexico. To protect itself from adverse weather conditions and to retain moisture, the candelilla plant covers itself with a gray powder composed mostly of wax.

CARNAUBA

Carnauba wax is obtained from the leaves of a palm known as Copernicia Cerifera. The leaves grow from long petioles, whose pores exude wax during the driest months of the year. Nature provides this wax to prevent excessive evaporation of the water within the plant.

CANDEUBA®

Candeuba® is a formulation developed by Multiceras consisting mainly of products of plant origin. Candeuba® has an intermediate chemical composition between candelilla wax and carnauba wax, with a balance between the natural hydrocarbon fraction of candelilla and the ester content of carnauba.

EMULSIONS

An emulsion is a product made up of a wax (natural, petroleum, or synthetic) that is dispersed (suspended), usually in water, with or without alteration of its original chemical composition, with the help of an emulsifier. The main function of a water-based wax emulsion is to take advantage of the evaporation of water, after the application of the emulsion, to facilitate the transportation of the active content (wax) and to ensure uniform impregnation on the treatment surface.

SYNTHETIC WAXES

Synthetic waxes are chemical products developed to reproduce the physical properties of vegetable, animal, mineral, and petroleum-derived waxes. Synthetic waxes are produced using the Fischer Tropsch method.

MICROCRYSTALLINE WAXES

Microcrystalline Waxes are made up of very small and flexible crystals, generating a greater affinity with oils (the oil is literally “trapped” in the microcrystalline structure and cannot migrate to the surface). Therefore, they are very malleable and less brittle than Paraffins.

PARAFFIN WAXES

Paraffin waxes are straight-chain hydrocarbons (N-paraffins) derived from petroleum that present in a solid state at room temperature.

PETROLATUM

Petrolatum are products derived from petroleum; they are obtained from the residues of the distillation of the oil that remains after its evaporation. Petrolatum are a homogeneous mixture of long-chain saturated hydrocarbons, generally more than 25 carbon atoms. They are a mixture of low-molecular-weight microcrystalline waxes and low-viscosity paraffinic oils.

This family of products has an oil content greater than 10% by weight.
